ENG. AHMED
FAISAL
Mathematics Instructor
Former IGCSE student. Mathematics instructor. Focused on making the method clear, the working deliberate, and the exam less uncertain.
From Student
to Instructor.
Before teaching IGCSE Mathematics, Ahmed experienced the same system from the student's side — learning the content, preparing for the papers, and understanding how much difference a clear method can make.
That perspective now shapes how he teaches: explain the idea clearly, understand the reasoning behind the method, then learn how to show it properly in an exam.
How I Teach.
I want each lesson to leave you with a method you can explain and use again.
- 01
Understand the Idea
You should know why a method works, not only remember the steps.
- 02
Show the Working
Mathematics is not only about reaching the answer. Your method has to communicate your reasoning clearly.
- 03
Practise With Purpose
Questions should build a skill, reveal a weakness, or prepare you for something the exam may ask.
- 04
Learn From Mistakes
A wrong answer is useful when you understand exactly where the reasoning changed.
“I don't want students to memorise a solution they cannot rebuild themselves.”
The goal is to understand enough of the Mathematics that, when the question changes, the method still makes sense.
Eng. Ahmed Faisal Mathematics InstructorWhat You Can
Expect From Me.
Clear Explanation
I will break down the reasoning before expecting you to apply it.
Direct Feedback
If something is wrong, we identify exactly where the method changed.
Exam Awareness
We connect what you are learning to the way questions are actually presented.
Consistency
The standard should not change from one lesson to the next.
What I Expect
From You.
Progress works better when teaching and effort meet in the middle.
- Show up ready to work
- Attempt the questions
- Show your working
- Ask when something doesn't make sense
- Learn from corrections
- Revise consistently
Knowing the Subject
Isn't the Whole Exam.
In an exam, understanding the Mathematics is the starting point. I also want you to notice how a question is phrased, identify what it actually asks for, choose a fitting method, and show enough working for your reasoning to be clear.
Then check whether the answer makes sense. Those decisions are part of being prepared, not an afterthought.
Start With the
Relationship.
One small example of how I move from an idea to a method.
Don't start with“Which two numbers do I memorise?”
Start with“What relationship am I looking for?”
2 and 3 (x + 2)(x + 3)
Concept before procedure.

Why Build IGians?
IGians grew from the idea that the whole learning experience should be treated with the same care as the lesson itself — from explanation and practice to materials, revision, and the way students move through a course.
